Members of the Ngäbe-Buglé Comarca will celebrate with a day off on Monday, June 11 to mark the naming of, Rosa Iveth Montezuma as Miss Panama the first indigenous person to represent the country in the Miss Universe contest according to a notice circulating on social networks.

It also happens to be the day that former president Ricardo Martinelli returns to  face justice and possible jail time,  and the day that President Juan Carlos Varela flies s off with his wife for his overseas jaunt to the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
