Social Media Loan Scams Alert
Panama’s Superintendency of Insurance issued a warning on Wednesday, April 24 of possible loan scams through web pages and WhatsApp messages.
The possible fraudsters pass themselves off as representatives of financiers who offer accessible personal loans and assuring ensuring that the history of the Panamanian Credit Association will not be taken into account.
All the procedure would be done electronically. They use names similar to real financial and the documentation that they send to the consumer has the logo of the Superintendence of Insurance as the supposed guarantor of the loan.
