Martín Torrijos denounced José Gabriel Carrizo for a publication in X where he linked him to millions from Odebrecht. One day they were co-partisans, today they are not only political adversaries, but they also fight a duel in the electoral instances. The president and vice-president are elected on a single ballot for a five-year term by direct popular vote. Presidents are not allowed to immediately run for re-election, but can run again after waiting five years.

The Attorney General of the Nation, Javier Caraballo, sent his opinion to the Supreme Court of Justice related to the claim of unconstitutionality regarding the presidential candidacy of José Raúl Mulino as standard bearer of the Realando Meta y Alianza groups.  Attorney Caraballo confirmed that his opinion is that Mulino's candidacy is not unconstitutional. The attorney indicated that he sent a lengthy 45-page opinion.

Political scientist José Stoute is speculating that José Raúl Mulino has a formal pact with former President Ricardo Martinelli, which is that, if he wins the Presidency on May 5th he will bring to the Assembly a project to achieve an amnesty for the former President, Ricardo Martinelli.  The Panama Executive Branch includes a president and one vice-president.
