Drought will reduce vegetable and fruit crops

The absence of rainfall in July will jeopardize, yields of vegetable and fruit crops in Panama, Costa Rica El Salvador and Honduras.  according to a report of the UN the Food and Agriculture  Organization. (FAO)

However, the FAO forecasts that cereal production in Latin America and the Caribbean for  2019 will reach a historical record of 274 million tons.  

The increase is attributed mainly to a strong recovery of maize production in South America, as a result of the expansion of plantations
