300,000  poorest students will get free uniforms and school supplies

Some 300,000  students in the 300 poorest districts of  Panama will benefit from the signing of a  contract for the .purchase of uniforms and school supplies. on Monday, December  23.

The Cabinet Council approved the contract between the Ministry of Education and Tejidos y Confecciones, for $12,192, 000, which will aid students from preschool to sixth grade.

The uniforms and supplies will be distributed in 796 schools.

Students n will receive two pairs of pants in the case of boys and two skirts in the case of girls. In addition to three shirts, three pairs of socks, a complete gym uniform and a pair of shoes.

The Cabinet also approved the contract between the Ministry of Education and the Ideo Group, SA for the acquisition of school supplies for the 2020 school year, for an amount of $4,155,000.

Students will receive a backpack containing four-wide stripe notebooks,  a sketch pad, pens, a ruler, and an eraser.
