FORTY HOTELS , half of them in the province of Chiriqui and half on the Pacific beaches will be certified by Panama's Tourism Authority (ATP), during the month of June.

Hotels offering lodging in Volcan, Boquete and Cerro Punta processwill be chosen, along with hotels along the beaches in Pedasi in the Los Santos province..

Hotels that have completed the certification process will benefit from some of the ATP's  incentives, twhich include a five-year exemption from import duties on materials, goods and equipment . 
The latest moves follow the certification of 25 companies including hotels, travel agencies and tour operators to help expand and raise the standards and scope of the tourism industry.
