Copa increasing fleet, routes, and flights

Copa Airlines has signed a contract to rent  another10 Boeing 737-800 They will be delivered to the company between 2011 and 2012.

This order is in addition to the 33 aircraft of the same type already on order. The new planes are expected to start arriving once the expansion of Tocumen International Airport is completed.

The expansion will allow the airline to increase the number of destinations it serves.

The company also expects to increase flight frequency to existing destinations. The prospects for economic and tourism growth in Panama and the region, "give us the confidence to grow a little faster in 2011 and 2012," said Pedro Heilbron, director of Copa Airlines at a a regional forum for airline representatives in Panama City.
