If you are planning to travel to or from the Interior during and on the eve of  Carnival, March 4-8, you will need to make note of the times you can use the two bridges that span the Canal.

But be sure it’s not going to be an easy drive at the start and finish of celebrations.
On Friday and Saturday March 4-5 drivers heading in to Panama city can use the Centennial Bridge  from 5:00 am 9:00 am, while those traveling west  out of the city, and there will be lots of them, will find the bridge open from 4:00 pm to 12:00 midnight and on Friday  from 12 noon to midnight
On Carnival Sunday the bridge will be closed all day.

On Monday, March 7, the bridge will be open for drivers who are traveling from the west of Panama to the capital from 5:00 am to 9:00 p.m. For drivers leaving the city, the bridge will be available from 4:00 pm until 9:00 p.m.
On Tuesday March 8, the bridge will be open for drivers who are traveling from the interior to the capital  12:00 noon to 12:00 midnight

On Wednesday, March 9 when workers are supposed to be back on duty by noon the bridge will stay open from  5:00 am until 12:00 midnight.

The Bridge will be open both ways from Friday March 4to Wednesday March 9, but restrictions on heavy equipment moving across will remain in place.
