PANAMA is firmly back in the sights  of Royal Caribbean and last week officials from the company  visited Panama for a meeting with President Juan Carlos Varela to discuss renewing visits to Colón.

Royal Caribbean used Colón as a home port between 2009 and 2014. Panama has tried to attract new business to the port in, which this year has only one cruise line using it as a home port.

That company, Pullmantur, a subsidiary of Royal Caribbean, has a departure every Friday.

In December, the company will add another cruise that will depart from Colón for the next four months.
