Out and about
Over 50 Canadians and those interested in Canada, turned up at Oldies restaurant in Bella Vista on Thrusday (Apl 8) to celebrate the arrival of spring (in the north).
They were also introduced to some of the Board members who outlined the community and social programs for the coming year.
They include continuation of scholarship programs for English teachers, providing equipment for local schools, and assisting at Canadian Embassy Functions.
On the social front plans were outlined for a family oriented celebration of Canada Day, soon after the official celebrations (July 1) A Canadian Thanksgiving Dinner on October 9 and a major charity event in December Carols by Candlelight.
The organizers signed up a group of new members and many attendees signed up to volunteer to help with the project.
Membership (open to all) is $30.00 family, $20.00 individual, and guarantees discounts at major functions.
