Big news for those who follow the starry world of filmdom. One of the original founders of one of the world's biggest and most successful film festivals will be in Panama in October.
Henk Van Der Kolk, one of the original Founders of Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) who will be walking the red carpet to be honored at this year’s event, will be attending the Canadian Thanksgiving Dinner in October, in aid of Fanlyc (Fundacion Amigos del ninos con lecemia y cancer).
With him will be his only daughter Yolanda who grew up working on the Festival in both paid and unpaid positions until she attended the prestigious OCA (the Ontario College of Art). She is now a renowned artist livinf in Panama.
As a Founder, Henk has a Golden Lifetime Membership which gets him) into all the galas, the star-studded world premiers and special VIP events. This year, honoring Henk and other founders almost everybody who is anybody in film will be there
The film industry generates tremendous profits for the country and creates tens of thousands of jobs.
In addition to the Founder's honors, this year is an even more special anniversary for the family Henk's first feature; Outrageous starring Craig Russell (which won awards at virtually every major film festival in the world including a Silver Bear award for Best Film at the prestigious Berlin Film Festival) will open the "TIFF for Free" program, and will be the first film screened at the exciting new $200 million Bell Lightbox Festival Center a year-round film screening facility in downtown Toronto.
Other celebrity guests at the Thanksgiving Dinner, will include the founder of Fanlyc Lelsie Ducruet, and the ambassadors of Canada, the United Kingdom and France.
