Large turn out for Fourth of July celebration
They turned up in their hundreds. In fact well over 1,200 happy Americans and friends were at the Balboa Yacht Clubon Sunday to celebrate the 4th of July, with a barbecue ... and a few toasts.

The barbecue“chefs” who were all members of VFW (Veterans of Foreign Wars) Post 3835 a added some additional sizzle and spice to the hot dogs, hamburgers and chicken they grilledd on a baking hot day, while other merrymakers chatted with old and new friends and reminisced about previous Independence Days at home and abroad, or line danced under the bohio.

Presidetr Ricardo Martinelli, had earlier attended a reception at the Ambassador’s residence where she took advantage of the opportunity to say farewell to the Panamanian authorities, as she has completed her work in this country and is slated to move on to a senior post as the head of mission in London, England.
