Panama’s Emergency Operations Center (COE)  has issued a prevention warning following a weather report from the Etasa Hydrometeorology center which forecasts landslides and flooding.

Due to the passage of tropical waves through the Caribbean basin and the proximity of the low-pressure systems and the monsoon trough located

Heavy downpours and electrical storms are forecast July 21-23, on both sides of the isthmus.

For Saturday are showers and storms throughout the country, associated with the presence of monsoon trough and low-pressure system on

On Sunday, July 22, the humidity will be maintained with unstable conditions in the area. And for Monday, July 23,

they estimate isolated downpours of varying intensity on both slopes, moderate to heavy downpours on both seas and south of Azuero.

The COE does not rule out the possibility of landslides, especially in the mountainous sector of Chiriquí and Bocas del Toro,  sudden floods in creeks sudden of creeks, streams, and overflowing sewers.

The report also forecasts swells and winds during the next 72 hours.
