OVER 100,000 people in the City of David in Chiriqui province, will be without water for  a large part of the weekend.

Except for Public and private hospitals and health care centers the taps will be turned off from 4 pm on Saturday, September 10 to 6 pm on Sunday. The shut down is to enable The water and sewage authority (Idaan) to remove calcium deposits from the water treatment plant of Los Algarrobos and from inlet pipes and storage tanks.

Idaan provincial director Youbert De Puy said the problem was revealed when in some homes pieces of calcium were released when taps were turned on.
