RESIDENTS  of El Cocal in Los Santos the province where a week earlier revelers danced beneath water jets carrying thousands of gallons of water, were on the highways on Saturday, February 13 to protest problems with water service.

They closed the Las Tablas-Tonosí Road because, according to the complainants, they have been without water for several weeks.

Los Santos Governor Yina Smith was on the scene to meet with the protesters.

Mercedes González, one of those affected by the lack of water, said hundreds of people are in the same situation.

"There are sectors that have not had water for months," she said

Police were on the scene but until afternoon had not taken any action against the protesters reports La Prensa..
