TWO YOUNG children were killed and at least 19 other travelers injured when a “busito” crashed on the Arraiján-La Chorrera, highway on Sunday, January 25. The dead children were a four-year old and an 8 months old baby.
The accident occurred at 11:30 am, on Highway near the town of Bique.
Ambulance firefighters, Red Cross and Emergency Management System ambulances transferred the injured to the hospital Nicholas A. Solano in La Chorrera
According to preliminary information, the accident happened when one of the min-bus tires blew, causing the driver to lose control.
The accident brought the Sunday death toll for bus accidents to 8. Six others died a few hours earlier when a bus plunged into a creek near David, Chiriqui.
