CONTINUING  rainfall  and high tides  mean thatthe waters of the Tonosi and La Villa rivers in Herrera and Los Santos have yet to recede, says  Jose Donderis, director of the civil defense agency, Sinaproc.

Donderis said that 17 homes along the rivers have been flooded. No injuries have been reported.

More rain is in the forecast and  Donderis  has warned residents to be aware that more flooding is likely.

The director said that the situation in the Darién, which experienced a large amount of flooding on Wednesday, October 20 is "under control."

While there have been no injuries, some 3,500 people have been affected by the floods.
