Supreme Court judge facing money laundering complaint

THE SCANDAL surrounding the cash purchase of two apartments for over $1.7 million dollars by a Supreme Court Judge took a dramatic new twist on Saturday, October 4, with the report that The National College of Lawyers (NCA) Tuesday will submit a  complaint about “the commission of crimes of money laundering and unjust enrichment”

 That decision follows the news that Attorney Ana Beatriz Bouche, who served as coordinator of the office of the President of the Supreme Court of Justice (CSJ) when this position was occupied by Alejandro Moncada Luna, delivered on Friday a notarized affidavit about the purchase of the apartments, by the judge and his wife.
In the statement, Bouche confirmed that Moncada Luna owns 50% of the shares of the Alpil, SA, Corporation whose name is listed as owning the apartment on the 16th floor of the PH Santorini building. The other 50% of the shares are in the name of his spouse, Maria del Pilar Fernández de Moncada Luns. It is the second apartment acquired in Coco del after Moncada Luna joined o the Supreme Court, in January 2010.
Until last April, was listed as secretary Bouche Alpil Corporation, SA
Bouche affidavit surrendered yesterday morning at the Fourth Circuit Notary. A source reported that the witness was accompanied by members of the National Bar Association (CNA), but when he did make a statement alone.
On these facts, the ANC announced yesterday that next Tuesday will submit a complaint for the commission of crimes of money laundering and unjust enrichment.
