CONTINUING strong winds with gusts up to 90 km an hour caused power outages across the country, on Monday February 8  including Panama City.

The winds also  caused damage to homes  as roofs were torn off and trees toppled.

 The Natural Gas Fenosa company said the winds led to  significant losses in the national grid.
"The most significant damage to the mains were  in Boquete, Anton, Las Tablas, Pedasi, Chitre, Chorrera, Arraiján, Capira, Chame, San Carlos, La Pintada, Santiago and Atalaya" says a statement

" Natural Gas Fenosa has increased the number of crews to deal with problems  caused by  the weather. Users can make reports by calling 800-8346 or 3157222 ".
Three houses lost their roofs in  Cocle and in Vista Hermosa in the village of Canaveral, two families were made homeless  An  18-year-old woman was injured by a falling block and in Penonomé an uprooted  tree fell on a house.
