SALOMÓN SHAMAH, the disappearing  former director of the Panama Tourism Authority (ATP) who has largely remained in the shadows since his mentor, ex-president  Ricardo Martinelli fled Panama, was spotted in Bogota  on Saturday Feb 6.

He was with Alejandro Pérez, one of the lawyers of Martinelli, and Luis Eduardo Camacho, the former president's spin doctor,, at the Morrison 84 Hotel, reports La Prensa.

They were spotted having breakfast at the hotel between 9:30 a.m. and 10:15 a.m.

The three stayed at the Morrison 84 Friday. They had three rooms, each having one in his name.

After breakfast Shamah and his wife, a resident of Medellín, checked out.

Pérez, Camacho and their families left the hotel at 10:30 a.m. They are registered to stay there through Monday.

Shamah has kept a low profile over the last few months except when, accompanied bty Martinelli , he was alleged to have threatened a key witness in a pending case against the ex-president. He has recently been accused of intervening in the election of the chief justice of the Supreme Court on behalf of Martinelli and handling confidential information about Martinelli's dealings with the securities house Financial Pacific.

Shamah was also linked to a call center for the CD that was allegedly funded by the state and for irregularities in contracts for web design ordered by the Tourism Authority.
