Roux named CD presidential candidate
Rómulo Roux became the winner of the Cambio Democrático party (CD) presidential primaries on Sunday, Aug, 12 over the Martinelli favored Raoul Mulino. Roux has 67% of the votes, while Mulino had 30%. The waning enthusiasm for the deeply divided and scandal-ridden party that ex-president Ricardo Martinelli founded to further his political ambitions was underscored by the poor turn- out with some 78 percent of party members failing to participate.
