Perez called in to explain documents found in his home

Former National Security Council Executive Secretary Gustavo Pérez was summoned by prosecutors on Thursday, Jan 29 to examine documents seized at his residence which are related to the investigation into illegal surveillance for which he has been charged.
The documents related to the purchase of surveillance equipment in 2010. The documents included specifications for the equipment and correspondence with the Israeli company that provided it says La Prensa.

The equipment, which cost 13.4 million, has since gone missing.
Prosecutors say there were 150 victims of the illegal surveillance, including politicians, journalists, union leaders and business owners.
Also charged in the case is former Security Council Executive Secretary Alejandro Garúz, Both are being held in La Gran Joya Prison in Pacora.
