Panamas Alonso Edward wins 100 meter gold in South America

Panamanian sprinter  Alonso Edward won Panama’s  first gold medal in the 100 meters at the  11th South American Games in Cochabamba, Bolivia on Wednesday, May 6.

Edward, who made his name as a 200-meter specialist competed in the 100 meters with a time of 10.01, setting a record for the Games which run from May 26 to June 8, 2018.

Athletes from 14 countries, including Panama, are competing in in 48 sports disciplines.
