Panama highway death toll reaches 255

TWO PASSENGERS were killed and the driver seriously injured when a pickup truck slammed into a pole carrying power lines on Avenida Centenario near the Rod Carew stadium, on Saturday afternoon, August 29.

The accident occurred on the first day of the partial closing of the Bridge of the Americas , when drivers were advised to use Centennial Bridge as an alternate route in and out of the city.
The latest incident  brings the death toll on Panama road, so far this year to 255.
It caused massive traffic congestion on Centanario and in the area of the bridge and on Ricardo J. Alfaro (Tumba Muerto) and surrounding areas reports La Prensa.
