THE FAMILY of Giacomo Tamburrelli former National Assistance Program (PAN ), director, have fled Panama after receiving threats. following a television interview in which he involved ex-president Ricardo Martinelli in awarding a $45 million contract for dehydrated food to Lerkshore International Limited,nowis under investigation..
 Gonzalo Moncada Luna, lawyer for Tamburelliconfirmed that his client's wife left the country  following threats received after Tamburrelli appeared for investigation by the second Anticorruption Prosecutor. He said the threats are a video that he will deliver to the authorities reports La Prensa.
Moncada Luna revealed that "some of his children [ Tamburrelli's] are not in the country, Very few family are with him, only his mother and a daughter.”
He said that his enemies want to know where they are [the family] because they’ve been trying to locate them". They have been called and sent text messages”
Tamburrelli has been under house arrest since December 15 for possible irregularities in a $45 million for dehydrated food to be distributed in public schools in the provinces of Veraguas, Cocle, Bocas del Toro and country areas. He told prosecutors that he acted under direct orders from Martinelli.
Students suffered stomach problems after eating the food and "broken glass" wasalso found, according to reports from the schools directors.
