THE BANK ACCOUNTS of a group of defendants in the case involving the purchase of $45 million of dehydrated food by the National Aid Program (PAN), are mostly virtually empty.

Authorities were authorized to freeze the assets of former PAN Director Giacomo Tamburrelli, former PAN Nutrition Director Angel Famiglietti, Molinar and Rubén de Ycaza, the legal representative of Lerkshore International Limited, which was awarded the contract for the purchase of the food.
Authorities can only seize accounts containing more than $1,000. Molinar has a savings account in Metrobank with $19,156 in it. Molinar also had an account in Banco General with $448.58 in it. An account linked to Lerkshore International Limited from Banco Nacional containing $1,331.93 was confiscated. on The plot of land on which De Ycaza had built a mansion, cost $500,000 before the first brick was laid.
Sources close to the investigation said that the Court of Auditors is awaiting a report on the seized accounts.
