The audits of the Office of the Comptroller General of the Republic for lands belonging to the University of Panama (UP) are confirming one by one

the revelations made by this medium,[La Prensa] about possible multimillion-dollar injuries against the heritage of this higher education school. Although the calculations of the auditors are conservative, they show the magnitude of administrative acts which, if they had not been revealed, would have been perpetrated for decades to the prejudice of the UP. The past administration, led by Gustavo García de Paredes has much to explain,  but there is no explanation the impairment of the entity assets in an educational system that suffers great deficiencies, although it is the most important university of the country. These audits are only starting point and should reach the bottom and in particular renegotiate the contracts that are a big business for tenants, while the University of Panama bears the brunt …La Prensa  Oct. 19
