IN SOCIETIES  with severe deficits in timely information on the management of sexuality, either for religion religious reasons or for poor integral education, family planning is always a challenge for  the authorities.

The most widespread and traditional methods of contraception, such as condoms, pills and intrauterine devices, are not always accepted.

Hence, it is the obligation of the specialists of the Department of Health and Comprehensive Care of the population of the Ministry of Health (Minsa) to be attentive to the latest advances in this field and incorporate them into their plans with, of course, the scientific rigor they deserve.

For this reason, it is plausible to include in its Sexual and Reproductive Health Program a new contraceptive alternative of family planning, known as the subcutaneous implant, a kind of flexible rod containing a hormone derived from progesterone, which prevents ovulation, with effectiveness of 95% and duration of three

years. Congratulations, for the right of the woman and the family to plan their future.
