The investigation into the shooting death of a Panamanian lawyer will continue in spite of a confession by a detained suspect said Assistant Attorney, Netalí Jaén at a press conference.

Braulio Enrique Saiten Mendoza , arrested in Tocumen on Friday "Confessed to having killed Javier Justiniani because he would not hear the case of his father, who is detained in prison on charges of of theft and drugs," said Jaén,  but statements made by the suspect were inconclusive and the investigation has been expanded.
He added that there were other possible scenarios, in which a Colombian citizen might be involved . Jaén said that the victim and the offender met at the prison when both were prisoners.

Javier Justiniani was jailed for 42 months on drug related charges, but turned his life around when he finished his sentence and studied law. He was an advocate for prisoners’ rights
Saiten Mendoza also confessed to having delivered weapons to others, so a search began, but none were found. Similarly searching for the taxi in which he left the crime scene produced no result," said Jaén . The suspect has not yet been indicted for murder. He is being held in a detention cell of the Directorate of Judicial Investigation (DIJ), located in Ancon.
