Saturday (September 18) was a good day for the towing and car repair industries. A 17-vehicle pile-up in San Miguelito tied up traffic for much of the day  and sent 14 people to hospital.
None of the injuries were life-threatening, but a a 62-year-old woman was listed as being in serious condition. Reports said that the accident was caused when a tractor-trailer lost its brakes and went into oncoming traffic causing a chain reaction . Vía Transístmica was closed for hours, but reopened at about 5:30 p.m.
