THE MI BUS company is moving  to reduce the time public transport users spend on Corredor Norte and Corredor Sur by 65 percent.

The  announcement came  Tuesday, Feb. 21   from Alfonso Penedo, president of First Transit, the company in charge of managing Mi Bus.

Penedo said that the plan  is to take advantage of the lateral spaces in the corredors and to enable six lanes during peak hours.

It also seeks to reduce the top speed on the highways from 110 kilometers per hour to 80 kilometers per hour.

This is part of a comprehensive plan that seeks to improve movement of passengers  to and from the eastern areas of Panama City.

The project includes the purchase of 203 new buses for the corredors and a price reduction in tickets.
