The crisis brought about by the breaking up of the ruling  alliance has taken another turn with the possibility that the firing of the former Minister of Foreign affairs may have been sparked by a recording  sent to President  Ricardo Martinelli. 

An investigation is under way to find out who sent Martinelli   a recording of what  appears to be a conversation between him and the vice president and former foreign minister, Juan Carlos Varela says La Estrella.

If  the recording is confirmed, an offense will have been  committed under the constitution and penal code, and could lead to imprisonment of the guilty party.
