A GANG related murder on Calle 50 in front of Panama’s iconic F&F tower, known locally as the screwdriver caused early morning traffic chaos on the already overloaded thoroughfare on Friday, November 14.

At around 3.30 am a white Hyundai Accent car stopped at the traffic lights in front of the tower , and seconds later a blue car carrying several people pulled alongside a a hail of gunfire poured into the vehicle driven by Henry Sanchez Castillo.
When police arrived he was rushed to Santo Tomas Hospital suffering from 17 gunshot wounds, but was pronounced dead on arrival at 4.35 am. Relatives were waiting to receive the news. Meanwhile police tapes went up on Calle 50 as the forensic team moved in, and the traffic build up continued down the length of Calle 50.
Ten cartridge casings were found at the scene of the killing when forensic investigators arrived, sealing off the area as early morning workers began to fill the City’s streets.
Authorities are still investigating the motive for the murder, believed to be gang related reports. El Siglo.
