The project to build an international airport in the province of Cocle is not a personal matter but the government's said Minister of Economy and Finance Alberto Vallarino.
He refused having any personal interest in the project and said that its construction has to be on national lands. "This is not an issue of Calle Arriba or Calle Abajo. This is a technical issue, "he said.

200 hectares are needed for the construction of the airport, but you also need more land around it to put for sell and consider the profits, added the minister for Telemetro Reporta.

The exact location where the international airport will be built is a decision that needs to be taken when the pertinent studies determine the "best place" to locate the terminal.
Several Municipalities are currently considering the headquarters of the airport.

The Government announced that a non-reimbursable technical cooperation by the Andean Development Corporation to conduct the study mentioned by the Minister Vallarino has been accepted.
