THE 5ooth  ship to use the expanded locks of the Panama Canal, ran into problems with its transit of the Agua Clara Locks  on Wednesday Dec.14

Captain Miguel Rodriguez reported that there was a problem in the electrical navigation equipment that pilots use to guide the vessel.

Due to the problem, the Yang Ming Unity, gave way to the next ship so there would not be a delay in the operation of the expanded locks.

The Canal Authority  reported that after overcoming the problems  Yan Ming Unity made it through the

locks.

S ix neopanamax ships used the expanded locks Wednesday: three in each direction.
