THE INVESTIGATION of Rafael Guardia, Jaen the last director of the National Assistance Program (PAN) during the Martinelli era over the purchase of bags of food  that were delivered to government candidates during the last election campaign, was adjourned on Tuesday January 27.

Guardian who has already pleaded guilty and is cooperating with the prosecution, arrived under tight security at 6:15 am to the Fourth Anticorruption Prosecutor in the Avesa building located on Via Espana . His lawyer says that Guardia has received death threats.
However, it was reported that the investigation could not be performed due to personal issues of should the defense of the former official .
The investigation will continue on Thursday January 29, sources with the Public Ministry told La Prensa.
After the suspension, Guardia Jaén was taken back to the La Gran Joya prison where he has been since November.
Last Friday, the former PAN director pleaded guilty before the First Anti-Corruption Prosecutor in the case of buying bags of rice with premiums and decided to cooperate with the prosecution and to return to the state all assets acquired irregularly when he occupied his post in PAN (2012-2014).
