WITH CLAIMS that she did nothing wrong, discredited by audits and evidence gathered by Panama anti-corruption prosecutors, fraud and embezzlement suspect ,Poullett Morales, faced a tougher line of questioning on Monday, June, 6 when she expanded her testimony over alleged cost overruns in the purchase of backpacks for the Ministry of Education by the National Assistance Program (PAN).

Morales arrived at the Avesa building on Vía España in a Department of Judicial Investigation (DIJ) vehicle and her lawyers, usually ready with declarations of her innocence offered no statements to the media.
She has been in custody since June 3, facing charges of fraud in public procurement, embezzlement and corruption of public servants.
The PAN purchased and distributed some 600,000 backpacks at what prosecutors claim were inflated prices.
