Fourteen injured in bus collision
FOURTEEN university students were injured, three of them seriously when the coaster bus they were traveling in had a head on collision with a pickup truck on the bridge over the River Escotá , in Santa Maria, Herrera on Saturday May 23 MiguelitoThey were on an academic tour and after visiting churches and Parita Monagrillo Chitre on their way to Santiago de Veraguas.
The injured were taken to Cecilio Castillero and Gustavo Nelson Collado hospitals in Chitre.
Luis Torres,the bus driver from the Regional University Center of San Miguelito
said the double cabin pickup veered out of his lane and hit the bus which was carrying 28 students, head-on. "Fortunately I did not let go of the steering wheel.or we would have overturned” he said.
