FAMILIES near the river La Villa, in Herrera  have been evacuated as water levels not seen for years have inundated the area.

Ismael  Herrera Commmissioner  of the National Police in the area,  said that the joint task force has been activated with the National Civil Protection System (Sinaproc) and the Fire Department

"We are moving possessions , so that these families can protect belongings that are of value," said Herrera.

The La Villa, Herrera  bridge has not been closed but Herrera said drivers are asked to cross cautiously  and not stop  to take videos or photographs
