A doctor, and her assistant, practicing in Chiriqui, have been sentenced to prison terms for the death of a young woman undergoing plastic surgery.

 The Third Circuit Court jailed Dr. María Dolores Crossan for the death at her plastic surgery clinic in 2013.
Her assistant, Fabiola Marcucci, was sentenced to 25 months for practicing without a license.
Prosecutor Roberto De Arco confirmed the decision.
The patient, Amyleth Aguilera Ortega, died on Nov. 22, 2013, during surgery at the clinic.
Defense attorney Edwin Álvarez said he would appeal, reports La Prensa
