Colon groups promise support for protesting Indians

Support for the Indians blocking the Trans-American highway at various points is growing and calls are being made for a quick government response to the protestors demands.

At a public forum in Colon on Saturday, February 4, Felipe Cabezas  leader of  the Broad Front for the Defense of  Colon, said the government must meet with and declare Ngäbe-Bugle area as a zone free of mining and hydro. "If the conflict continues the Colon  popular movement will go to the streets and take action for and on behalf of fellow Indians, Among those supporting the forum were National Federation of Public Employees and the Association of VeraguasTeachers
