THE CanadaPLUS Club, a super active Panama based group  is now the CanadaPLUS Foundation.

The organization started six years ago to create social events for expats and build links to the local community.

The “PLUS” in its name indicates that membership is open to people of all nationalities and from its opening event in December 2009,  when over 120 attendees enrolled its membership list has swollen to over 500 residents and snowbirds from 25 countries including Panama.  it stages six to eight events a year, including Canada Day and Thanksgiving, Murder Mystery Dinner Theatre, exploration tours, and seasonal celebrations  Its fund raising activities culminate in December with Carols by Candlelight which raises funds for local institutions and provides a free participatory community concert. Among those who have benefited are, Santo Tomas Hospital,  Hogar Malambo, The National Ballet, local schools and, this year Vision of Hope.

In addition members have been able to take advantage of a health insurance plan and special discounts  at local businesses

CanadaPLUS  will be  holdinga 12^th Night Celebration on  January 6 to mark its 6^th birthday,
