THE 9TH DEATH from dengue this year was confirmed by Panama's Ministry of Health onThursday September 11.The latest victim was a 14-year-old from 24th de Diciembre who had been was transferred to the Hospital del Nino and died after several weeks of hospitalization.

Health official Lourdes García said that there have been 4,542 dengue cases so far this year, 1,000 of them in Panama City.
García urged citizens to eliminate breeding sites of the mosquitoes that transmit the disease.
Just this week three people from 24th de Diciembre were hospitalized with dengue. Reports La Prensa.
