A 30-YEAR-OLD  motor cyclist Denis Avilés,  died Monday night, May 15 at the Rafael Hernández Regional Hospital in David after being hit by an  SUV  at 8:30 p.m in Los Algarrobos, on the road leading leading  from David to Boquete, in the district of Dolega, Chiriquí province.

After the collision, both drivers lost control and veered off the road. The vehicle rolled over

Aviles worked as a Municipal Police officer  in Dolega. He was the father of three children.

His death brings the total of traffic  fatalities so far this year to 178,  people have died from accidents, of which 38 have been in Chiriquí.
