15 ,bars, restaurants hit for noise and health violations

AT LEAST 15 owners of bars, clubs and restaurants  in San Felipe will be taking time off from their businesses this week  to appear before local magistrates to explain why they flouted the law governing noise. They were cited by the team from the office of Mayor Jose Isobel Blandon which carried out a blitz from late Friday until 4 am on Saturday August 30 to check on health concerns, unpaid taxes and noise., after there had been multiple complaints from neighboring residents near the cathedral in Casco Viejo.

The owners of the establishments were cited for not having certificates of fumigation visible, the absence of night permits and for using  the sidewalks in many cases.

The coordinator of magistrates, Joaquín Solis said that  offenders, will have to appear before the magistrate's San Felipe this week.
