SCOTIA BANK’S  acquisition of  Citigroup's consumer and commercial banking operations In Panama and Costa Rica, is now finalized, but don’t expect the Citibank signs to disappear overnight.

The signing of the $360 million deal was announced in July 2015 and the integration process is underway but it will take 24 -36 months according  to a Scotiabank press release.

The acquisitions triple Scotiabank's customer base in the two countries from approximately 137,000 to 387,000.
