TWO PANAMANIAN golfers will be seeking a ticket to the 2016 Masters when they play in the second edition of Latin America Amateur Championship (LAAC) later  this month.

Miguel Ordonez and Raul Carbonell have  confirmed their attendance at the event, which will be played at  the Teeth of the Dog golf club in  Casa de Campo in the  Dominican Republic and will be televised to more than 140 countries

Ordonez said the Panamanian representative was chosen for their  national ranking and performance in  Isthmus tournaments.

The two best players from each country in the region  have been invited and 108 golfers are expected to compete.

The winner of the championship, Jan.14 to 17 will be invited to play in the Masters, in  April.

The  tournament organized by the Masters Tournament, The R & A and the United States Golf Association (USGA) aims to create the next champions of the region and inspire more players in the future.

LAAC champion will  have the opportunity to play in three Majors, as it ensures a place in the Masters Tournament 2016 and runners-up  will get , an invitation to participate in the qualifying final stages of The Open to be played at Royal Troon and the US Open to be held at Oakmont Country Club.

Ordonez and Carbonell are scheduled to travel to Dominican Republic two days before the start of the tournament.

After the event Carbonell will travel to Peru where he will compete in the XI South American Open on January.10

The Casa de Campo resort, located next LAAC has four courses, including three designed by Pete Dye.

The, 6,664  yards  Teeth of the Dog course , has holes near the sea.
