A BOMB THREAT  in San Jose, Costa Rica  forced the evacuation of An Air Panama flight Thursday, Nov 10.

According to reports from media in the neighboring country, the threat was made by one of the passengers aboard the flight, an 80-year-old of Spanish nationality.

“The passenger was apparently a little upset by the trip, and said that he had an explosive,” authorities said.

The plane was checked by a canine unit and the passenger was taken into custody.

“It appears he was making a joke,” said Carlos Hidalgo, a spokesman for the Ministry of Public Security.

The passenger was later released reports La Prensa.
