A 56-YEAR-OLD Swiss man has been arrested in Panama in connection with the death of a Canadian, whose body was discovered in a suitcase three months after he disappeared from his home in Coronado, says a  Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) report.

Ed Moynan, 68. left his home by car on Thursday November 8,2012 between 11 and 12 pm, and was last seen in El Rey on the major highway leading to Panama city. His wife Louise was visiting famliy in Ottawa at the tme of his disappearance. His body was found early in 2013, in a suitcase, nor far from Coronado.

Ludwig Pereira who had been the subject of an INTERPOL bulletin that said he was wanted on suspicion of homicide, was known to the victim and his wife who had sold their business in Ottawa before moving to Panama

"We had reliable information that one of the suspects was walking freely in Panama City … I'm also a consultant with the National Police of Panama, we started working on the case and thank God we had an effective arrest of the suspect," Caslos Sanad, lawyer of the dead man’s wife Louise Moynan said in an interview with  CBC All in a Day host Stu Mills.

"The problem in Panama is there's a lot of wanted people.. we the attorneys have to act like investigators, we have to act as lawyers, we have to act as police; myself I was waiting for this guy last Friday with my handcuffs and my gun just in case the backup didn't show up."

"It's very difficult to me, going back to this," Louise Moynan told CBC News on Tuesday morning. "All I'm praying for is that whoever did this  is brought to justice. That's all I'm hoping for, that justice is served.

"I don't think I have enough words to describe the frustration. It's been very very difficult," she said, adding that it's been hard to deal with a judicial system she doesn't understand.

The couple had moved to Coronado after selling their Ottawa business, Centennial Glass. Louise Moynan returned to Ontario after her husband disappeared.

Moynan was originally from Cowansville, Quebec, about an hour’s drive southeast of Montreal.
