Panama Biomuseo named one of world's best tourist projects

PANAMA’S Biomuseo has been presented with an award as one of the best tourist projects in the world by the British Guild of Travel Writers (BGTW).

The awards presented annually by the Guild,recognize three categories: the best tourism projects in the United Kingdom, Europe and the rest of the world.

The Frank Gehry designed Biomuseo won the award in the Maximum grade, within the category worldwide.
Canadian born Gherry Gehry's best-known works have often become tourism magnets They include the titanium-clad Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, Spain; Walt Disney Concert Hall in downtown Los Angeles; Louis Vuitton Foundation in Paris, France; MIT Ray and Maria Stata Center in Cambridge, Massachusetts; Experience Music Project in Seattle; New World Center in Miami Beach; Weisman Art Museum in Minneapolis; Dancing House in Prague; the Vitra Design Museum and the museum MARTa Herford in Germany; the Art Gallery of Ontario in Toronto; theCinémathèque française in Paris; and 8 Spruce Street in New York City.
The BGTW has 300 registered members, including writers, editors, photographers and television and radio journalists. While traveling the world, the communicators, many with an international following, observe new tourism projects of all kinds. Some are sophisticated and cost millions. Others are simpler, although capable of generating an impact in their communities.
